The Immune System

Won't my immune system just destroy the Hepatitis C virus?

A few people are lucky and their immune system will tackle the Hepatitis C virus, providing a natural 'cure'.

The immune system is what usually keeps you healthy. It detects, attacks and destroys viruses when they invade your body. It even remembers them, so if they ever come back, it can act quickly to overwhelm them.

Viruses are just as clever, and can adapt or evolve themselves, to avoid detection. Hepatitis C is like this, so in most cases, the immune system does not respond. However, in one in five cases, the immune system will destroy the Hepatitis C virus.

It is important to keep stress levels down so the immune system works at capacity.
